Fr. Alfonso Limone was born in Atripalda, Avellino, in Italy on July 10, 1960. His parents were Mr. and Mrs. Raffaele and Annita Limone. He is the eldest in his family along with two sisters.

He did his elementery and Junior and Senior highschool and some philosophy in Italy. In 1982, October 5,he entered the Vocationary in Pianura, Naples. He came to USA on July 31, 1984. On August 1^st, 1984, he started his novitiate in Palisades Park, USA under late Fr. Ernest Di Polvere, S.D.V.as novice master. He took his first vows on August 2, 1985 at St. Michael’s Church, Newark. While he was studying in Immaculate Conception Seminary, he earned a college degree at Edison State College in Trenton. He earned his Masters in Divinity in 1989 from Immaculate Conception Seminary. He was ordained as a deacon in St. Michael’s Parish on December 17^th, 1988 by late Bishop Mac Hugh, former auxiliary bishop of Newark. As a deacon he served in St. Michael’s and Florham Park. He was ordained as a priest on June 24, 1989 at St. George Martyr Church in Pianura by late Bishop Salvatore Sorrentino, former bishop of Pozzuoli Diocese.

Over two years, he continued his service in Florham Park community now known as Our Lady of Divine Vocations Shrine and Retreat Center. Former Superior General, Fr. James Capraro, S.D.V. sent him for the mission in Nigeria in 1991. Together with Fr. Nicola Carandente, they started Vocationist First Vocationary in Nigeria on February 2, 1993. He is one of the pioneers of Vocationist Nigerian Community. He served almost ten years as a local superior and delegate of superior general in Nigeria helping the new candidates to the way to holiness.

In the General Chapter of July 2000, he was elected as General Counselor for the Missions. On August 2001, he was transferred to the head quarters in Rome of Vocationist Fathers where he was assigned to be the local superior and treasurer. At the same time, he was also an assist pastor at St. Gabriel’s Church, Via Cortina D’Ampezzo, Rome. On October 2002, he was asked to be the spiritual assistance of the Vocationist Lay movement called Co-operators of Vocationist Missions and the delegate of superior general as spiritual assistance to the Vocationist Apostles of Universal Sanctification ( Italian branch).

In the General Chapter of July 2006, he was elected as the Vicar General of the Congregation. A few months later, he was appointed as the legal representative. Today he is an assistant parish priest at St. Philip Apostle in Via Grottarossa, Rome.
