The 52nd Death Anniversary Celebration, In India
Prepared By: Bro. Rony Parakkal SDV. (Regent and Teacher of the students at Thalore.)

How pleasant it is, when brothers live in unity. This verse of the Psalm was also the unanimous feelings of our Indian vocationist communities as we gathered together for the celebration of 52nd Death Anniversary of our beloved Founder, Fr. Justin M. Rusollilo.

Fr. Justin’s Vocationary was proud of having chosen to be the host for our brothers and sisters from the communities of Kerala on this auspicious day. The unanimous effort of the members of this vocationary in Thalore made the seminary and its surrounding a little paradise. Nobody noticed the laps of 3days as all put their heart and soul for the preparations.

The huge Mickey Mouse moved around to bid welcome to all those who arrived for the feast , in the person of our first year candidate Albert Nellissery.  Before 10 o’clock our sisters from communities of Mannuthy, Puthur and Puthuruthy have arrived.  Our Professed brothers also reached in time.  Fr. Rector, Jimson Alukkal and the community received them with warm welcome.

As per schedule all moved to auditorium where Fr. Rector officially welcomed all the communities and publicly read the felicitation letter of  Vocationist  Mother General.  Thereafter Sr. Michalina SDV, from Italy has shared with us the enlightening thoughts and memories about Ven. Fr. Justin and a short account of his spirituality, translated by Sr. Sini SDV Superior of the Mannuthy community.

The most awaited and central event of the celebration was the Holy Mass. Fr. Antony, and Fr Johnson and Fr. Sinoj joined Community Just before the Mass. Rev. Fr. Jimson, Fr. Johnson (Main Celebrant) and Fr. Antony were the chief celebrants at the Alter and Rev. Fr. George, Fr. Shaji, Fr. Anil (Assitant Rector in Thalore) and Fr. Sinoj were concelebrated.  It was Fr. Shaji SDV who preached the sermon on this particular day.  Instead of giving us a dogmatic or gigantic exhortation he gave each of us a little gift of spirituality of our Ven. Fr. Founder wrapped with his fascinating style.  The melodious choir was directed by  Rijo Kochupurackal (Vocationist Postulant) assisted by Postulant Lincy from the (Vocationist Sisters.)

After the Holy Mass we were led to the Dining Hall were delicious items were waiting for us.  Fr. Antony said the grace and everyone took part in it according to their own choice and taste.

The programs in the afternoon were group discussions and presentation of various themes of importance, regarding the Vocationist Mission in India. Lively and colorful stage programs were followed.

Dance from Postulant sisters and Break-Dance of the Aspirants of Thalore Vocationary gained thunder applauds.  The group song and comics of Thalore Vocationary candidates received considerable appreciation.  Our Brothers of Mulayam community staged a small but beautiful drama, “Chumarukalillatha Veedu”.

After all those comely items all got down to our Chapel for Benediction conducted by Fr. Antony SDV and Mulayam brothers.  Before the Blessed Sacrament we prayed for the growth and prosperity of our congregation all over the world.  In a very special way we remembered Fr. General and his Councellors, and Mother General and her Councellors.  The benediction was culminated with the Offertory of the Most Precious Blood and received the final blessing.  Benediction- It was a time full of grace and inspiration. Later we moved near to coffee table and there after the whole community posed for a photograph.  Leaving sweet memories in each ones heart, we ended the Indian vocationist Festal Gathering.  We need these get-together which enlivens us, encourages us and appreciates our oneness .

Fr. Justin holds unique halo and an abiding place in the heart of each vocationist.  Fr. Justin is the sole cause by whom we all share the brotherly and sisterly communion of vocationist charisma.  We treasure the unfading memories of our elder and missionary vocationists who left in us a heritage when they spoke and lived of Fr. Justin and his spirituality.  And it is these sweet memories function like golden thread that unites us wherever we are and whatever we are. Let us pray together, Oh my God and my All…!
